Skincare Routine


Morning Routine 
  1. Cleanser
    Start your morning off with a cleanser. Your skin doesn't need to much cleaning in the morning so maybe even a splash of water will do. 
  1. Toner
    Using a toner is an awesome way to finish off this first step and make sure all dirt, oils and bacteria's are GONE! Try and avoid  cleansers that contain alcohol.
  1. Serum (totally optional)
    Serums are great if you have uneven skin tone, dull skin, fine lines or are needing hydration. 
  1. Moisturiser with SPF
    It’s important to use a moisturiser that contains SPF daily. No matter what your skin type is!
  1. Eye Cream
    Always use eye cream last after moisturiser. It’s important to use an eye cream no matter your age because the skin around your eyes is different from the rest of your face.

 

Evening Routine 



  1. Cleanser
    Start with cleanser just like the morning, but opt for something stronger to ensure the cleanse is deeper and ridding your face of dirt from your day.
  1. Toner
    Toner is especially important at night to really wash away any impurities from the day.
  1. Acne Treatment (totally optional)
    Now, it’s most effective to apply any acne treatment right after you cleanse so that its closest to the skin.
  1. Serum (optional)
    Next, if you’ve applied any acne treatment, wait for it to dry before adding serum. Use the same one from the morning to ensure the best results.
  1. Night Cream
    Night creams slowly absorb into the skin overtime and are super hydrating. 
  1. Eye Cream
    Add eye cream after night cream, just as you did in the morning.
  1. Facial Oil (totally optional)
    For those of you with dry skin, facial oils are amazing. Gently pat the product into your skin when you’ve finished applying everything else. Using facial oils over time can really improve the state of your skin.
 
Exfoliating

 

Your skin exfoliates naturally: When you’re young, your skin will naturally renew itself about every 25 days. When you reach the age of 30, the process begins to slow down which may result in more pigmentation as well as a duller looking complexion.

Exfoliate in the morning: Your skin renews itself overnight, so exfoliating your skin in the morning to remove any dead skin. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, twice a week may be a bit too much and may cause irritation. If you live in warmer weather or in summer your skin may be naturally oily, you might have to exfoliate more than twice a week to accommodate a higher build-up of dead skin cells.

Be gentle: Make sure you don’t scrub your face too often or hard. Rubbing too hard and too frequently will only cause more harm than good to your skin.

The benefits are endless: With regular exfoliation comes beautiful skin. Not only does it remove dead skin, it also reduces skin discoloration and pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.

Same goes for oily or acne-prone skin: If you suffer from acne-prone or oily skin, washing your face too much will not make the oil and spots disappear, it will most likely do the opposite. Over exfoliating the skin can put your sebaceous glands into a frenzy, causing them to produce more oil than necessary, and ultimately cause more breakouts to occur. So, stick to exfoliating once or twice a week.

Remove your makeup: Before you exfoliate, it's important to remove all makeup and give your skin a thorough cleanse. If you don’t, the exfoliant will not be able to give you the deep clean you are wanting.
